#Trapped Awareness Campaign: Public Debate – GP

10 October: Public Debate on Trafficking in Persons and Liberalization of Legislation on Commercial Sex Work in South Africa: The moderated Public Debate will be aimed at exploring the link between Human Trafficking and Commercial Sex Work. The Panellists will argue whether liberalization of legislation on prostitution in South Africa can lead to an increase or decrease in cases of Trafficking in Persons.

This event is being hosted and driven by the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development (DOJ&CD), the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) and the Directorate for Priority Crimes Investigation (DPCI) to raise awareness about human trafficking during Human Trafficking Awareness Week.
